GEO implementation for Webflow websites. Leveraging Webflow's features for optimal AI crawler access and content structure.
Available3 lessons18 min
Webflow publishes static HTML from a CDN, so presence is rarely the problem and structure usually is. On a visual canvas how text looks and what tag it carries are separate choices, so a page can show a clear heading hierarchy while its source contains one heading and a set of styled divs; pick the tag from the document structure and use a class for the appearance. A published site also exists at two addresses, your custom domain and a .webflow.io staging subdomain, and both are crawlable until staging indexing is turned off in the project SEO settings, which publishes a robots.txt on the subdomain only and requires a paid plan. Never block a URL in robots.txt and add a noindex tag to the same page: the tag lives inside the page, so blocking the fetch means it is never read. Finally, a CMS collection template is the structure of every item in it, so a template that puts a hero, a breadcrumb and a related-items row above the rich text field makes every page in the collection answer its question fourth, and moving one block repairs all of them.
Webflow publishes static HTML, so the question the other platform modules open with is already closed: the substance is in the response and a crawler receives the page without running anything.
What replaces it is a structure problem that comes from the canvas. On a visual builder the tag and the appearance are two decisions, so a page can present a clear hierarchy and contain almost no headings. The other two lessons are the second copy of your site at the staging subdomain, and the collection template, which is the one edit on a Webflow site that repairs hundreds of pages at once.
